E-Prime® 2.0
E-Prime® allows the experimenter to design an modify experimental paradigms for unimodal and multi-modal stimulus presentation. A large library of experimental tasks exists that can be downloaded and customized to match the needs virtually all research paradigms. This extremely well supported package is applied across almost all human neuroscience research disciplines with more than 10,000 users worldwide. With appropriate incorporation, timing synchronization* within milliseconds can be maintained, resulting in high quality ERPs.
**-Event synchronization/timing is dependent on a number of variables, including computer operating system and hardware, memory, design of the experimental paradigm, appropriate identification of event/response trigger events, and sampling of the event activity by the EEG amplifier. Sensorium systems are delivered in a configuration that will obtain the best event synchronization possible for known paradigms. Also, refer to the E-Prime timing documentation on issues and solutions related to this issue.
Note, it is always the end-user's responsibility to regularly check the status of synchronization between stimulus presentation and stimulus event markers. Changes in loaded software, or operating system updates can produce unexpected changes in event timing. It is always recommended that once data acquisition and stimulus presentation systems are set up, these systems be dedicated to their intended task and not used for other applications.
