EEG and ERP studies often require the acquisition and storage of subject responses. This is particularly true for attention, memory and other psychophysical discrimination tasks. To optimize the use of this data, timing of responses must be precisely couple, not just with the presentation of stimulus events, but with the continuous EEG, all of which must be synchronized with the maximum possible timing precision.
